Larchfield Estate Wedding | Jordan + Matthew

Jordan and Matthew got married on the 22nd of September at Larchfield Estate in Lisburn. Both the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception took place at the venue.

Jordan & Matthew first met via a mutual friend while on a night out in Belfast although it wasn’t until a few years later that they got together, but have inseparable ever since. After living a way from home for a while they have now returned back to Northern Ireland to start their married lives together.

These guys should have been married last year, but like so many couples their wedding had to be postponed because of the pandemic. While of course that was disappointing for them both they made sure to make up for it on the day. Jordan DIYed a lot of the wedding herself, her keen eye for detail and talent when it comes to all things crafty was shown throughout the day. The guys chose a Lord of the rings theme for their wedding and it was understated and beautifully executed.

Jordan and her bridesmaids got ready at the venue on the morning of the wedding having stayed there the night before and she stepped out from getting ready to make her way to the ceremony looking every bit like an elven princess straight out of a Tolkien novel.

The venue was absolutely beautiful, a Larchfield Estate wedding is special. The sun came out for the ceremony and while it was much stronger and higher in the sky than was ideal for photography, Jordan and Matthew had been hoping that the weather played ball so that they could have an outdoor ceremony and it was wonderful. The wedding rings were delivered by a bird of prey thanks to the amazing Hawk Walks N.I. The guys also “tied the knot” sharing a handfasting ceremony. It was the first time we have seen these guys at a wedding and all of the birds were amazing, especially the owl that looked it had flown straight out of a Harry Potter movie. After the ceremony Jordan & Matthew broke with normal wedding tradition a little bit and headed straight away to cut their wedding cake, with the coolest cake knife we have ever seen at a wedding. After that we off course headed straight away to see the birds of prey.

The day and timeline was planned perfectly so after the bride and groom portraits were done the guys had plenty of time to spend with their guests before heading inside for the speeches. The speeches went well and Jordan shared a few emotional words herself.

After dinner there was another opportunity to shoot some stuff around the venue before doing a very fun sparkler exit. The guys then headed back inside for their first dance and with restrictions on dancing now having been lifted Jordan was also able to have a dance with her dad before everyone else hit up the dance floor too.
